While studying Nutrition and Dietetics at LSU, Laura Kate discovered cake decorating! What began as a hobby quickly turned into something much bigger. From taking her first cake decorating class to creating cakes and desserts for friends and family, attending Texas Culinary Academy–Le Cordon Bleu,
and graduating as a Pastry Chef with high honors, the journey eventually led to the creation of Sweet Stirrings!
But building a bakery is only one part of the story! Behind the cakes are the realities of motherhood, marriage, entrepreneurship, running a small business, chasing dreams, navigating challenges, and trying to build something you’re proud of while raising a family. And that’s why The Mixing Bowl Diaries exists!
